Is Inteleos the Same as ARDMS? What Sonographers Need to Know
Short answer: Not exactly. ARDMS® is part of Inteleos, a nonprofit certification organization, so Inteleos is the umbrella and ARDMS is the sonography registry inside it. Your RDMS, RDCS, RVT or RMSKS is still an ARDMS credential; you just manage it, register for exams and maintain it on inteleos.org now.
If you typed "ardms.org" and landed on inteleos.org, nothing is wrong. The old address redirects there.

What Inteleos is
Inteleos describes itself as a nonprofit certification organization and calls ARDMS, APCA and the Point-of-Care Ultrasound Certification Academy "part of the nonprofit Inteleos community of certification alliances" (Inteleos). The same page lists ARDMS Certifications as RDCS, RDMS, RMSKS and RVT.
In plain terms: ARDMS didn't disappear. It sits inside a bigger organization that also runs other certification programs.
What this means for you
If you're a student getting ready for the SPI or a specialty exam:
You apply and schedule through the Inteleos site.
The exams are the same ARDMS exams. The SPI is still about 110 questions in 2 hours, costs $275, and passes at 555 on a 300 to 700 scale (Inteleos SPI page).
When you pass, you earn an ARDMS credential like RDMS, RDCS or RVT.
If you already hold an ARDMS credential:
Your credential keeps its ARDMS name.
Maintenance of Certification now includes Knowledge Confirmation, quarterly quizzes on the Inteleos SKILLS Platform. You need 80% cumulative by December 31, and the first deadline for RDMS, RDCS, RVT and RMSKS holders is December 31, 2026 (Inteleos Knowledge Confirmation). Read our full guide: ARDMS Knowledge Confirmation Explained.
Log in on inteleos.org to check your status, CME and quizzes.
On your resume or badge: Keep listing your credentials the same way, for example "RDMS, RVT (ARDMS)". The credentials are still ARDMS credentials.
Why people get confused
Bookmarks and old links still say ardms.org.
School handouts, older study guides and many websites still say "go to ardms.org".
Your emails and login pages now say Inteleos, which looks like a different company if you weren't expecting it.
The fix is simple: use inteleos.org for anything official.
